Happy Memorial Day!

Greetings! We hope this email finds you well.  It is hard to believe we are rolling into the Memorial Day Weekend already! We will be closed on Monday May 25. Our crew here at Dockside have been working hard to have boats ready for use! As a reminder, manufacturers have released software updates over the winter that correct  known issues and add new features to your equipment, schedule your update  with our office and we will take care of this for you! Call Tim in our office @ 860-536-1919 or email in your work order request. We are continuing with full installs daily, Schedule your electronics upgrade now  and enjoy fresh new technology for the 2020 season!


Many folks plan on spending extended time on their vessels this summer, as a reminder, not only do we offer all Navigation equipment, Dockside does full entertainment installs. On board satellite tv installs, stereos, lighting and much more!   As a reminder, Direct TV made changes for local channels, contact our office for options to be able to track major networks.

  

Showroom Access/Sea Trials/Open House

We are working on a plan to re-open our showroom on a limited basis. We will release details next  week, however we will have to limit the showroom to one customer at a time only, and masks will be required to enter the showroom. For the time being, we can meet outside our showroom for in person transactions. Payments are also accepted over the phone.

Our plan is to host an open house in late August if possible. We will continue to follow the Governor's guidelines and will not set a date until we know we can safely host an event. The open house will be planned for outside with electronics from all the manufacturers we represent.

Sea trials will be scheduled on a limited basis as well as on board meetings.

Spring Updates! 4/29/2020

Greetings!


We continue to hope you are safe and well. As boats are starting to splash for the season, we wanted to reach out to remind folks that throughout the winter, electronics manufacturers wrote software updates that improve features, add new features and correct misc software bugs. We offer service calls to come aboard now and update your electronics to the latest software so when you fire off your electronics for the first time, you are up to date and ready to go! We have new chart cards in stock and can deliver them while doing software updates. We are working daily in the field to make sure your electronics needs are met. To schedule a service call/software update, you can call our office or email Tim, and our team will take care of this for you.


Direct TV also shut down local programming tracking for standard definition satellite units in the late fall. If you are not running an HD unit, you will no longer be able to track local channels. East coast major networks are still available, however your programming will need to be changed. Contact Tim in our office for this service change.


We are still not entering boats within 72 hours of any other person at this time, we are hoping to relax this policy in time, if you have any questions feel free to call.

COVID 19 Update - 4/8/2020

Greetings from the Dockside Team

 As you may or may not know, the Governor of Connecticut deemed marine service as an "essential" service. As you can expect, we have had to make changes on our day to day operations.


For our recreational customers: As marinas remain open per Executive Order 7H, we are installing and servicing electronics as scheduled. We ask that you remain off your boat for 72 hours before we board your vessel. If you are on your boat on Sunday, the earliest we will board is the following Wednesday.


Our showroom will continue to stay closed to the public until further notice.


We have implemented ZOOM as part of our operations. We are able to offer a ZOOM conference from our showroom to go over equipment or to do a meeting on board your boat to discuss installs all while abiding by social distancing guidelines. ZOOM is a free platform and can be downloaded by following this link :https://zoom.us/signin


Sea Trials: All sea trials are on hold until social distancing guidelines are relaxed.


Shop Installs: Any boat that can be trailered to our location or brought in via water will be continued to be serviced. As with our recreational guideline, we will not board the vessel until it has been clear of any other person for 72 hours.


Although these changes are different, we want to continue to provide the best service possible to our customers, we will offer all services so that when we can get back to our normal operations your boat will be ready for you. Payments can be taken over the phone, and email is checked regularly. Thank you for your understanding and support of small business during this difficult time.
